The 31 individual pistes, distributed evenly between blue, red and black, make Zell am See an area for skiers of every level. There are 26 modern lifts to help you get around the mountain and if you still have energy left towards the evening you can enjoy night-skiing on piste nr. 17. On Europe’s longest Fun slope in Schmitten, both kids and adventurous souls will obtain a new skiing experience through the 1300 metre terrain.

At 750 metre above sea level, Zell am See is quite a large resort with stately buildings, an alpine lake and fine gastronomy. The restaurants offer a combination of traditional and modern Austrian cuisine, and the après-ski bars host a vivacious nightlife. Zell am See also has an alpine roller coaster, the highest open air art space in Europe, free GoPro rental, and the bragging rights of having the first operating cable car in Salzburg (from 1927). Like it couldn’t get any cooler, there is an “Ice Camp” on the Kitzsteinhorn which is a fascinating igloo village for hanging out and experiencing snow parties.
